The Inception Team
Mr Bristow is a business consultant with over thirty years’ experience in building and managing businesses in the oil and gas and resource sectors. His career progressed from project engineering and project management to Managing Director of a leading Australian engineering and project management company servicing the oil and gas industry. In 1997 Mr Bristow established his own management consultancy providing advice on strategic and business planning and contract delivery strategies. In 2002 Mr Bristow invested in and joined QED Occtech Services Pty Ltd, a Perth based specialist water and waste water technology company. In April 2007 he was appointed to President QED Environmental Solutions (FL) LLC based in Tampa, Florida where he was accountable for securing the business and developing the organisation for the delivery of an advanced water treatment plant to treat highly acidic process water. Mr Bristow has significant experience and demonstrated achievements in:
- Leading business culture change and delivering outstanding business and safety outcomes,
- Developing and implementing strategic and project delivery plans,
- Preparing and delivering contract and procurement strategies,
- Tendering, negotiating and managing engineering and construction projects.
James Davidson is an experienced mining professional that has been associated with the Mining Industry since starting his career in 1992. James has extensive experience developing and managing; test work programs; flow sheet and plant design; pilot plant design and construction; and project evaluation across a broad range of projects. James has worked on numerous operational sites including; Mt Gordon Copper Mine, Ranger Uranium Mine and Beverley Uranium Mine. In 2006, he joined Uranium Equities as General Manager and Chief Metallurgist of Urtek, the Uranium Services Consulting arm of Uranium Equities. In this role he undertook the design and pilot plant studies of novel ways to extract uranium from secondary sources. In addition to this he worked as the Principal Process Engineer for the engineering team developing the pre-feasibility study for the Olympic Dam Expansion Project. With 20 years experience in uranium and other base metals, from early test work through pilot operations, commercialisation, production, and project management, James has the experience to guide any project from conception through to operation.
Conrad is a metallurgist and MBA graduate with experience in managing projects and performing engineering design from conception to operation for clients in the mining and minerals, and oil and gas markets, since 2003. Conrad’s attributes include a high attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a collaborative attitude. Conrad’s experience in design, operations, business and commercial management gives Conrad the ability to assess a project from a holistic view point, offering a different insight to projects and key areas to concentrate on for success. With on site and consulting experience, exposure to commercial risk and a track record in project management, Conrad is a versatile engineer capable of adding value to any project.
Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Rolf A. Heinrich CPA is Chief Financial Officer and Company Secretary of Inception Group and Inception Consulting Engineers since January 2015. He has professional and corporate experience across a variety of sectors in both Australia and the United Kingdom. He has worked in senior finance roles with companies including most recently Elders Limited as Finance Manager for the Farm Supplies division and prior to this Newcrest Mining Limited as the groups Manager of Business Analysis. He was Chief Financial Officer of Uranium Equities from December 1 2008 until 2014. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree and is a Certified Public Accountant.
Jon is an experienced mineral processing engineer with broad exposure in all facets of mineral processing plants. Jon’s early career was focused on technical and operational management of processing plants before branching out into study and engineering management for plant expansions. Jon possesses key expertise in all facets of hydrometallurgical plant operation, design and implementation specializing in uranium processing and production. Experienced in mineralogy interpretation, leaching systems and solvent extraction design, from initial scoping testwork management through to final design and commissioning. In recent years Jon has had significant exposure to base metals mineral processing and uranium mining, milling and extraction at all levels of project development from conceptual studies through detailed engineering to final implementation.
Dr Bob Ring
Bob is an experienced process development specialist with more than 40 years’ experience in R&D and consultancy work for clients in Australia and overseas related to the hydrometallurgical processing of ores and the treatment of waste streams arising from processing operations. His early career focused on improving the cost effectiveness of current and future mining operations, which led to the implementation of several innovations by industry, a number of which have been patented. Bob was the General Manager of ANSTO Minerals, soon after its formation in 2004, and for almost a decade he guided the growth of the business into a thriving minerals industry consultancy which evolved from uranium into rare earths and then into speciality metals. Bob has extensive experience in managing test work programs, process development projects and client relationships. He has authored more than 200 reports for industry and brings a wealth of knowledge to the Inception team.
Wilson is a young process engineer with two years of experience including international exposure. After graduating from the University of Adelaide, he worked at Micron Semiconductor in Singapore and Dow Chemical in Vietnam before coming back to Adelaide to join Inception. He is passionate about material processing and enjoys working with people.
Graduate Process Engineer
Elise is a recent process engineering graduate from the University of Adelaide. During her final year of study she worked part time with the Inception Team and has now joined full time. She is excited to gain hands-on experience and learn from top experts in the industry.

Nicholas has 10 years’ industry experience in membrane application and fluids separation in aggressive environments. This includes extensive experience in lab scale membrane testing as well as commissioning troubleshooting and optimisation of membrane-based separations in a variety of different applications. Nicholas is experienced in real world applications of membrane separation and design of membrane systems for various applications. Currently a PhD candidate at UWA, Nicholas can provide his wealth of experience to solve your separation or membrane problems.
Charles is an established and experienced Geologist with significant experience in all facets of exploration, planning, reporting and tenement evaluation. With over 16 years of exploration experience Charles has been an integral part of identifying and exploring some of South Australia’s premier discoveries such as the Beverley 4 Mile project.
BSc (Geology) RMIT
Rick is an experienced and well connected geologist with over 20 years of experience in industry, with a particular focus on mineral sands and uranium deposits. His most recent role involved leading a Mine Geology team in the successful installation of extraction facilities, and production from, sandstone hosted roll front deposits. Key responsibilities included, delineation of ore bodies, designing and installing new wellfields, designing and installing regulatory monitor networks, managing the wellfield balances while in production, and optimising the production from wellfields. Rick is currently the director and chief geologist of Fish Hawk resources and provides consulting and owners team representation to various companies.
